Arsene Wenger has been handed a major boost ahead of the clash with Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Gunners boss will be eager to see his side win Europe’s second tier club competition after announcing last Friday that he would soon be leaving his role as manager.

Wenger is very much aware that in order to win the Europa League, most of his key players will have to be fit and play at their best, especially with a clash against Spanish contenders Atletico Madrid to come.

One of the important Arsenal stars not involved on Sunday was Mesut Ozil. The 29-year-old missed out on a place in the 18-man squad against West Ham due to an illness.

However, much to the relief of the Arsenal faithful and Arsene Wenger, Ozil has made a return to action and he was able to take part in training at London Colney on Wednesday.
