Arsene Wenger will be relieved to hear that one of his key players is unlikely to be sidelined by fitness concerns ahead of next weekend’s important clash with Tottenham.
The Arsenal manager will be hoping his side returns to winning ways after witnessing them fall 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City courtesy of a 3-1 defeat at the Etihad stadium in their last outing.
Yet again this season, injuries have continued to be an issue for the Gunners who currently have at least four players from the first team on the injury list.
Aaron Ramsey, who featured for 90 minutes as Wales lost 2-0 to France last Friday, has been one of the players with persistent injuries worries so far this season.
There were fears over a recurrence of the 26-year-old’s hamstring problem ahead of the international break but he has been allowed to return to Arsenal ahead of other teammates to avoid any setbacks.
“Coming into the camp we knew we were only going to have him for France,” Wales boss Chris Coleman said.
“No matter how he felt afterwards we decided it would be one game for Aaron Ramsey.
“I think coming into the camp because of what’s been happening with him at Arsenal in terms of his fitness we thought one game would be better than two.
“That was the thinking, he’s gone back to Arsenal. He will be available for them at the weekend.”
