Arsenal have received another injury boost heading into the end of a busy month of December as the second half of the campaign approaches.

The Gunners have been hit with their fair share of injury blows so far this season, but they have still managed to keep their title hopes alive thus far.

One of the players who has been on the sidelines for much of the current campaign is Danny Welbeck who suffered a knee injury during the trip to Manchester City last season.

And ahead of that same fixture this year, Arsene Wenger has given the best update yet on the England international, revealing that Welbeck is finally set to resume training within the next seven days.

“Danny Welbeck is one week away from full training.” the Arsenal manager said during his press-conference on Friday

“But of course it will take some time [for him to be fully fit] because he hasn’t played for a long, long time.”

The imminent return of Danny Welbeck will hand Wenger a much-needed alternative to Alexis Sanchez upfront with Olivier Giroud struggling to make an impact off the bench in the last couple of games.

Of course, the last time the former Manchester United star made his return from a long injury lay-off, here was the outcome…
