A majority of the Gunners’ first team squad is out on international duty following a turbulent couple of months at the Emirates stadium.
And one man who has been in impressive form regardless of how disappointing Arsenal have performed in recent weeks is Alexis Sanchez.
The 28-year-old went into the international break with major doubts over his fitness after an ankle injury he sustained in the 3-1 defeat at West Brom.
However, Sanchez eased any worries about his condition by contributing heavily to Chile’s 3-1 victory over Venezuela in Tuesday night’s important World Cup qualifier, only days after featuring in the 1-0 loss to Argentina.
Sanchez curled home a sublime free-kick only five minutes after kick off before producing an assist for his side’s third goal.
