Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has welcomed back one of the Gunners’ previously injured players to training as the team now prepares for this weekend’s clash with Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s last fixture before the mid-season break saw them face Burnley without several key defenders in a match which ended in yet another draw for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners were missing summer signing Kieran Tierney on the day as his replacement Bukayo Saka also succumbed to an injury of his own by half time.

However, ahead of the clash with Newcastle this weekend, Tierney – who is earning £75,000-a-week wages (The Sun) – has made his way back into training this week.

Thus, Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has taken to social media to send out a cheerful message to the 22-year-old, who has resumed training after recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered back in December.

The recovery of Tierney is particularly good news for Mikel Arteta, who is still gunning for a spot in the top four of the Premier League, despite his side’s run of four games without a win.
