Pep Guardiola praises Arsenal man who has performed ‘incredibly well’ for the club
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on the Gunners’ boss, following what has been an encouraging start to his career as the man in charge at the Emirates stadium.
With the Gunners desperately in need of new leadership after the sacking of Unai Emery in late November, Arsenal decided to hire Mikel Arteta as the new boss.
The arrival of the Spaniard was not greeted with the full approval of the Arsenal faithful with a section of fans insisting that Arteta did not have the adequate amount of experience required to succeed in the job.
However, with the Gunners managing to get back into the race for a top four finish prior to the suspension of Premier League games, there is no question that Arteta has made a solid start to life as Arsenal manager at least.
Speaking this week ahead of the fixture at the Etihad stadium which was eventually cancelled, Pep Guardiola raved about the relative success that Arsenal’s new boss had achieved thus far.
“I would say [he has started] incredibly well in the fact his ideas are already implemented in the team.” Guardiola told Manchester City’s official website
“His positional game is getting better day by day. Doing that in a short time is not easy.
“I am pretty sure Arsenal will have success in the short time in the future with him on the bench.”
