Gunners agree deal with German side for stranded striker
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Stuttgart over another loan deal for Takuma Asano for the 2017/18 campaign.
The 22-year-old joined the Gunners last summer but work-permit issues meant he was not included in the first team squad.
Asano spent last season on loan with the German side and produced a string of encouraging performances in the Bundesliga II.
However, Arsenal’s second failure to secure a work-permit for the Japanese international means he will remain at Stuttgart for another year.
On Sunday night, Stuttgart’s sporting director Jan Schindelmeiser confirmed the striker will stay in Germany next season as well.
“Takuma Asano will play with us next season. We have discussed this with him, his advisers and Arsenal.” he said
Asano managed to score 13 goals in 43 matches for club and country during last season.
