Arsenal have confirmed there has been a boost in the defensive department for Mikel Arteta, ahead of the important trip to Bournemouth on Thursday.

The Gunners went into the clash with Everton last Saturday without a host of first-choice players as Freddie Ljungberg named the last starting line-up of his short reign as interim manager.

One of the players who were not available for the trip to Goodison Park was Hector Bellerin, who had been sidelined ever since a hamstring injury he suffered ahead of the win over West Ham two weeks ago.

Bellerin remains a very vital player in the Gunners’ squad, due to the lack of capable options at right-back in the absence of the Spaniard.

And ahead of the trip to Bournemouth, Arsenal’s medical staff has confirmed that the 24-year-old is now back in training and will be assessed before Thursday’s fixture.

“Back in full training. Being assessed ahead of Bournemouth (a).” an update from Arsenal.com said about Hector Bellerin on Monday

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who filled the void at right-back while Bellerin was sidelined, could be back on the bench for Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge of the team.
