New reports and speculation are indicating that Arsenal are putting the finishing touches on an important deal.

The Gunners have often had issues with securing the long-term future of key members of the first team squad over the past decade.

The likes of Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna have all made infamous decisions in the past to leave the club after running down their deals at the Emirates stadium.

However, Arsene Wenger appears to have learned his lesson with the news that a current star Gunner has been rewarded with a bumper new contract at the club.

Hector Bellerin, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona as a teenager in 2011, has finally agreed to sign a new six-year contract at the club which will see him earn £100,000 per-week in wages – according to a report by the Telegraph.

The Spaniard’s agent Albert Botines admitted yesterday that Bellerin was intent on committing his future to the Gunners.

“Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress.” Botines said.

The deal for the 21-year-old is expected to be announced by Arsenal later this month.
