Arsene Wenger is reportedly eying the sale of one of the players who have failed to live up to expectations at the club.

The Arsenal manager stated on Sunday that his squad has to be trimmed ahead of the new campaign with 33 first team players now at his disposal.

Wojciech Szczesny and Yaya Sanogo have been offloaded so far and the next man to secure a transfer move away from the club could be out-of-favour centre-back Gabriel.

According to the Sun, Arsenal are willing to sell the Brazilian defender for a price even less than what he was purchased for.

Gabriel, who moved to the Emirates stadium in January 2015, has struggled to retain a place in the starting line-up, especially after the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi.

The report is suggesting that Wenger is keen on selling the 26-year-old for a transfer fee of €11 million (£10 million) to help raise funds for a possible new addition.

La Liga contenders Valencia are believed to be interested in signing Gabriel who was not involved in last Sunday’s clash with Chelsea in the Community Shield.
