‘Really like this player’: Some fans loved Arsenal man vs Cherries
It appears as though most of the travelling fans loved what they saw from one of the Gunners’ midfielders in the win over Bournemouth.
Arsenal faced the Cherries on Monday night, hoping to secure a win which would pair them up with Portsmouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
With Lucas Torreira out of the side, Mikel Arteta named Matteo Guendouzi in his starting eleven at the Vitality stadium, almost a week after the midfielder’s inspiring cameo in the draw against Chelsea.
The young Frenchman was in fine form once again as the Gunners took full control of the game during the first half by grabbing a two-goal lead before the break.
Until recently, Guendouzi appeared to be not enjoying much playing time under Arteta, despite being one of the first names on the tram sheet during Unai Emery’s reign.
The midfielder did capitalize on his chance to impress the boss on Monday and most of the fans lauded him for that…
I really like this player. Matteo Guendouzi: always aesthetically pleasing to watch in possession. I pray Arteta do a mad thing on him. he'll be immense. did I mention that he can't be bullied? yeah, he's a tough character this boy #COYG #BOUARS pic.twitter.com/r1yDQjR1G8

Guendouzi has been fantastic. You can clearly see the Arteta effect on him.

Really impressed with Guendouzi's tonight, he started the season so well then tailed off a couple of months ago. Matteo's best game for a while, really happy for him 👏 #AFC pic.twitter.com/aHXFrJv55n

Guendouzi’s most underrated trait is his immense ability to win the 2nd balls in midfield and use it to calm the tempo of the match.

Matteo Guendouzi has won back possession eight times- more often than any other player on the pitch in the first half https://t.co/Kh4mv38xsy

Never forget there were fans that were writing off Matteo Guendouzi because he had a bad few weeks in our worst run this season when everyone was playing badly.
