‘He doesn’t deserve what he gets’ – Twitter gives surprise reaction to Gunner’s show against Leicester
Olivier Giroud may have gone five Premier League games without scoring a goal but most fans appear to be enjoying what they are seeing.
The Frenchman has played an integral role in the Gunners’ pursuit of a first league title since 2004 which sees them sitting just two points adrift of top spot with 12 games left to play.
However, Giroud is currently enduring a barren spell in front of goal after last scoring in the 3-3 draw away at Liverpool. That form appeared to have an effect on his team as they went on a run of at least three games without scoring or winning before the 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
But after his performance in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Leicester which saw him set up Theo Walcott’s equalizer with another headed assist, the fans are no longer complaining about Giroud’s goal drought.
Giroud takes a lot of stick, sometimes justified because he's wasteful, but his cushioned header for Walcott's goal was top, top class.

Giroud gave a lesson on how a good strong CF can be when he isn't banging in goals.

If we paid £40m for Giroud that header down would be classed world class. What an assist

Giroud has more assists than Ozil in 2016!!!!

And Giroud doesn't get enough credit. Battled today. Got an assist and somehow denied a goal but his movement was excellent too.

Barca's CBs are feeble, Theo definitely would be better suited to get in behind but I can see Giroud bullying Pique and Mascherano.

I think Giroud has improved very well, what he does is very important for the team to win games, he is not scoring but he is creating for others to score, that is what a team player should do. He should continue to work hard for the benefit of the team.
