He is back! Massive injury boost for Arsenal ahead of Stoke City
Arsene Wenger has given a positive injury update about his squad heading into the clash with Stoke City.
The Gunners are preparing to host Mark Hughes’ side at the Emirates stadium, hoping to maintain their unbeaten run in the Premier League and keep the pressure on leaders Chelsea.
Injuries have continued to trouble the progress of Arsene Wenger’s side so far this season with several first team players currently sidelined.
However, the Arsenal manager has revealed that there are hardly any new problems picked up from Tuesday’s trip to Basel in the Champions League.
Indeed, there is rather good news for the Gunners with Hector Bellerin of all people now in contention to be named in the 18-man squad which faces Stoke City.
“We have no injuries, I hope,” Arsene Wenger told arsenal.com. “Everyone looks to have recovered well.
“Coming back into the squad we have [Francis] Coquelin, who was of course suspended, and maybe Bellerin who has a test today.”
The return of the Spaniard would be a massive boost for Arsenal and below is some rare footage of the squad going through a training session only a few days ago.
Noticed how Bellerin’s understudy Carl Jenkinson doesn’t seem too full of confidence even in the absence of the big crowd?
