‘He should be at QPR instead of Arsenal!’ – Twitter bashes Gunner after Southampton show
It is now safe to say that a majority of the Arsenal faithful have reached a new level of frustration with Theo Walcott.
The 0-0 draw against Southampton saw Arsenal drop to fourth place, only a month after beginning 2016 as league leaders.
Walcott had played a part in Arsenal’s surge to the Premier League summit as his form kept Olivier Giroud on the bench at the start the of season.
But after a string of games without a telling contribution, the England international fired more blanks off the bench on Tuesday as his golden chance saw Frasier Forster produce another save.
Even though the 26-year-old was not entirely culpable for Arsenal’s fourth Premier League game without victory, the fans on social media had no kind words for Theo after the final whistle.

Walcott would be playing for QPR on the other side if London if not for Wenger. Has never stepped up when needed.https://t.co/QB5EaNOWZi

So next we play Bournemouth with ex-Gunner Afobe looking better than Giroud & Walcott combined, followed by Leicester & Vardy! #ShitHitsFan

If Walcott had stayed fit this last ten years, he'd be playing in the Championship. The only thing that's saved him is the fucking injuries

Thought Ox was maybe a better option than Walcott in a tight game but it's a dumb or dumber choice. Lack of urgency was alarming for 60mins

Aguero and Vardy won their sides 3points. Giroud and Walcott screwed everything up.

moron of frog, they do not have the spark required for trophy!,they are just the bunch of hogs playing football. In fact, they are clueless, they are just boys in a game of men, above all, they run like slaughtered chickens. Besides, that one piece of prank, believing himself to be all that, the professor, the genius, the wrangler, the bargainer, that old bag white elephant namely Wenger must go. How come, a manager who boost himself like hell is having such poor dull team.
I am pissed too. Walcott and Ramsey oh my God don’t deserve to wear the Gunner shirt, what a waste of money, please bring back Welback and Carzola and bench these average players. Really Pissed!
I just wish that this hopeless fucked up Wenger man to sack himself before I come for his head because every season , he makes us believe that he near there but instead he fields rotten Walcott who just cannot grow at 26. He still plays like a baby ,stupid him. Then slaggish Giroud and of course ever hopeless Ramsey . Wenger should just leave emmediately all else I plan for his head soon.
If I was Wenger , I would follow Ferguson and other old fashioned coaches to retirement .This old man has run out of ideas because with him being asuper miser , he runs the club like his family . I wish he goes to hell.
Wenger is letting us down, he just cant it right his first eleven somerhing is wrong with this man
Something is trully wrong with the man, he needs to see Doctor specialized in mental cases.
Arsenal was playing some wonderful games recently and they were top of the league on New Years Day. What has gone wrong? At times, I am beginning to question Wenger’s tactics like that Chelsea game when he had Giroud subbed.
I hope there is a turnaround. We have the talent to do it. Its just that some of the players have lost their conviction. The pace is not there. I only hope that we can play again like when we bamboozled Man Utd 3-0.
I have my faith in Wenger. He is one of the greatest ever managers. But, if if nothing good happens at the end of the current season, he must consider leaving Arsenal. It will be in the best interest of the Club and perhaps Wenger can reinvigorate some other club in Europe. We all need new challenges!
Wenger has to take the blame. He cannot motivate the players. It’s Wenger who should have stepped down for Guardiola. Wenger will cling on to power but end up like Thatcher and Blair…..despised. The old should give way to the fresh and vibrant. This drama of the old man who does not know how to let go has been played out a million times. Wenger is blind to it and will lose. Very sad.
Theo can not play on the left hand side and perform well, he can only play as a right sided attacker and a CF.
Theo is an attacker who gets onto the end ball and not sets that end ball up… unless it is a cross from the right.
Arsenal lacked a CM who would put his foot on the ball and control the play. Ramsey is too busy rushing forward and leaving Flamini exposed and then we lose possession in the center of the field and people wonder why we are not dominating possession.
Although Alexis and Campbell are quick, they are not ‘fast’ and as such the opposition gets to push their def higher up and that is what also happened, this makes it harder for people like Ozil to excel at their qualities. This also effects Ramsey game as Ramsey is about his timing of his runs to go past the CF and be a threat, the timing is screwed up when the opposition dictates it due to a lack of raw pace.
Robert Parker, well said. Only thing is Theo played from the right side yesterday and was still pants. In any case, Theo does prefer to cut in from the left and shoot with his favoured right foot.
Again, Ozil did dominate play in the 2nd half and we had greater possession than S’pton, who by the way, have topped the EPL possession stats for a while now; that suggests dominance/possession wasn’t the issue.
On the contrary, the Saints defence were forced to play very deep, which was why we had trouble finding space and had to ‘create’ every chance we got. It is also the reason, I think, Theo found no joy as there was no space behind to put on his burners and take on slower defenders.
Arsenal played well, especially in the 2nd half, but were not efficient with our shooting OR, keeper Forster was magic, as Coach Koeman stated. He also admitted NO team has created so many chances against his side, since he joined, as Arsenal did. Let’s hope we get things right next game.
Arsenal have been made to look good this season due to the others underperforming and NOT Arsenal playing well. We are an average team in an average league this year and when the bigger teams wake up they will leave us behind again. Man city will win the league and possibly Leicester and dare I say it Spurs will finish above arsenal! 4th spot then best for us this year as its been every year. Next year we will miss out on the CL spot if Wenger is still at the club. Time for change needed.
I said that many times with Walcott,Ramsey,Chamberlin,Giroud you would get maximum 12 games a season.Rest would be very poor these players arent good enough to win a compettive league, champions league would be unthinkable.Wenger needs to wake up.imagine him not buying anyone how lost he is.
Peter Fowke, just listen to yourself: “Arsenal have been made to look good this season due to the others underperforming and NOT Arsenal playing well”. Just listen to how ‘intelligent’ you just sounded. FYI, usually, Champions emerge when the rest of the league don’t perform as well as the winner. That’s why it is a round robin, each team playing every other team to determine the log leader. Think about it.
Moyeen, soccer is a TEAM sport so no team ever has a squad full of super players. As frustrating as those you mentioned have been, the team needs them until such a time as we get better players, I guess.
It is Arsene dat has bin shielding dead wood players at Arsenal under d cover dat they wl improve. Can anyone of those dead wood players make first team under Pep, no ooooooooooo. Arsenal.wl not make any head way in EPL until Wenger leaves. He has bin using d same pattern, d same style for years. D club needs a new manager, wt new ideas, focus, new pattern, new orientation, new style of attacking, defending, new style of marking opponents. Enough of wenger’s old policy. D club need a change, yes a change in everything dat concerns arsenal. If care is not taken dis season, d club wl not qualify for champions League. D first four may slop off their hands dis time.
It’s only Wenger that sees the quality in his team. Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshere & Ox are all school boy footballers definitely not league winning players. Arsenal certainly can’t win the league with players like Per defending & Giroud leading the attack. Beyond that get rid of Wenger he has lost the plot. Can’t give what you don’t have, Arsene doesn’t have it anymore
Arsenals first team players Ramsey, per mertesaker, walcott,Giroud, flamini although he gives 110 cannot see any of them getting in to the man city team or any 5 best teams in the world. These days football is won by little details. When you have 4 to 5 avearege players what do we expect.average manager average board average team fa cup and 4th place
Babaniyi, be careful what you wish for. Just look at clubs which changed Managers just for the sake of it and show me one that made immediate impact with top level consistency, year in year out. This thirst for quick success has taken over the emotions of fans now that some sound as if they Love Success more than Arsene or perhaps, that they can do a better job. Liverpool got Klopp; Chelsea brought back Mourinho; Manchester United got Louis van Gaal; Steve Mclaren (?) is new at Newcastle and so is Allardyce.
It is because of Arsene Wenger that Arsenal fans are now so used to consistent success, they feel it is an entitlement, irrespective of the limitations evident all around. The Club just won the FA cup (oldest football competition for clubs and a pride of England) back to back, along with the Charity shield, yet fans want the Manager sacked. Guess what; we don’t get to make that decision. The owners do. The fact they don’t see things our way must be because they are satisfied with the manager’s work ethic. So, just be patient and quit crying more than the bereaved.
So so funny reading all these comments, it’s like being in a school playground. It’s been a funny old season. Who would have thought that Leicester would be considered title contenders and that Chelsea would be struggling in the second half of the table. My point is that teams are getting better which, I for one think makes for a much more exciting league rather than seeing one or two teams dominate it year in year out.
Leicester and Spurs being so high up just goes to show that you don’t have to splash the cash to achieve some form of success. There is still 14 games to go and I still believe Arsenal have a better chance of winning the league this season than we have for a long time now. I wonder how many people on here that have flammed Walcott, Giroud and Ramsey will change there tune if this team wins the league?
Get behind the players and support your team like real fans should.
Imagine against viera, pettit, overmas, bergkamp, pires, henry and others against current side what the score would be.Arsenal went backward in my opinion. This the league is very weak next year you have the blockbuster mr P. guardiola.
Moyeen, you may be right, those guys may not make it into the City team. Yet, somehow, those average players out score the ‘great’ City team nearly every time they have met in the last 3seasons; Theo and Giroud scoring beautiful goals against them too, to boot.
Let’s just agree we should focus on our day jobs and leave the running of the club to those who do it for a living. Or, those who have actually invested cash into the continued existence of the club. It is not all over; we can still win the league. In fact, if results go our way in the next 3 games, we could be top by month end.
Moyeen, any ardent watcher of soccer during the last 2 decades would tell you the game has changed with regards to the money available to every team, making the EPL so competitive. The Invincibles side of Vieira and Co had poor games too, when fans would be livid and call for players’ heads; and that was an era when Arsenal were a clear top team. I can wager a bet that that same team may not go unbeaten in today’s environment and would have to make adjustments to style in today’s game. It’s like your Dad (I assume you are at least 30 years) telling you he used to be the best in class because he could research books best in the Library; you would probably smile today and say “Google”! No need to make direct comparisons between eras. It never helps because of the resources/technology available to most clubs today.
To sell: Walcott (10 million), Arteta (Free), Silva (4 million) and Szczesny (4 million).

other team supporters are telling me arsenal are always oo,aah, ooo.one step forward five steap backward.when can we win the slam of football the champions league. can anybody guess with the team we had for last 7 years we have no chance.mr wenger is a business man excellent for his boss not for supporters iam frustrated and angry why because not buying a single outfield player in the summer.
I see. You’re unhappy because you are losing the bragging rights. That’s so selfish of you. These “other team supporters”….what position is their club sitting on the table? Quit being so precious and get behind the team or go support Manchester City! No one cares how you feel.
how long is it without the league and when the wait will finish.whos talking about bragging right i dont even expect to win anyway.10 years is a decade
