‘He’s so frustrating, worst on the pitch!’ – Twitter reacts to Arsenal man’s Barcelona performance

While Mathieu Flamini has attracted much criticism for giving away a penalty immediately after being introduced off the bench, another midfielder has not been spared by frustrated fans.
The Gunners managed to give Barcelona a run for their money until Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi combined to break the deadlock after 71 minutes through a devastating counter-attack.
Messi’s penalty-kick sealed off a harsh 2-0 defeat for Arsene Wenger’s men on a night where they looked likely to defy the odds at one point.
Despite putting in what appeared to be a busy shift in midfield, Aaron Ramsey has been picked out by some Gooners as one of the few who were culpable for the defeat to Luis Enrique’s men.
The Welshman, in for the injured Santi Cazorla, is yet to score a goal since he found the net against Sunderland in last month’s FA Cup tie.
But was Ramsey really that bad on Tuesday night? These fans think so.

Still can't believe Aaron Ramsey once scored what seemed like 40 goals in 2013/2014. Stunning # of missed chances this season. Frustrating.

The thing that annoys me abt Aaron Ramsey is that he didn't even attempt to sprint back in the build up of Barcelona's goal..no future at CM

Aaron Ramsey is so frustrating. Either MOTM or worst player on the pitch. Nothing in between.

Aaron Ramsey has put on the worst display from a central midfielder that I have ever seen

This Arsenal loss is 100% on Aaron Ramsey. If he'd stop trying to outdo Mesut Özil and just play his own game, Arsenal could be up.

Aaron Ramsey, runs for days… Average at passing but has the shooting ability of a disabled cow

Yet Wenger will play him every game.
Aaron Ramsey is becoming a boring , selfish player, he can’t when tthere’s a need, dribbling himself than opponents. No vision of what to do when he is having a a ball. Wenger start thinking of Chamber and Mahamed please as DM. deploy AR up front or on the bench. He disjoints and slow count attack flair.
Aaron Ramsey is the only reason we have lost or drawn games which we should have won. I don’t know why Wenger is so blind to see that. Rambo has completely failed to feel the void left by Sant. I feel Muhammad Elneny can do better than this guy. Wenger please stop using experience where we need your brains. As long as Ramsey remains in that role, forget about EPL title.
In addition to AR, Flamini is another pain. Why did AW bought Elbeny? Anybody could see that he impressed and perform much better than Flamini! When MF came on I knew it would be trouble. AR did badly in some of the recent games but Wenger never had him replaced. Arsenal were coming back and got dangerous shortly before the penalty. If not for the penalty Arsenal could quite likely, equalized.
Winger need to live the club because the way he do his things I don’t like it at all he prefer to us stupid country man than to us dose who will give us what we want and that is the reason to win important cup will be difficult for us
Martesacker,Flamini,Giroud,Ramsey shouldn’t play any counter-attacking games because these lads are extremely lazy on the pitch. The best team won yesterday. No doubt about it, since they played very well, confident on the pitch, well composed and made less mistakes as compared to our team Arsenal. Barcelona is 90% through to quarter finals, and so Wenger should try and give chance to players like Iwobi,Campbell,El neny, Welbeck,Chambers,Gabriel to start in the second leg.
Can’t believe there are so many clueless Arsenal fans. Aaron Ramsey worked his tail off all night, made more passes than anyone in an Arsenal shirt achieving 90% successful pass rate.
Of the so called “British Core” hailed three years ago, he is the ONLY one to make the mark. Ox, Wilshere, Gibbs and Jenkinson could easily be replaced in the squad and as for Theo 10 years is more than enough.
Stop believing the English bias of the press, blogs and keyboard warriors. Remember, no matter the player when he puts on the shirt …..he is Arsenal.
Glad someone speaks on what he sees rather than those half a brain twitter morons who speak from the same hymn book whether relevant or not. Gary of course, the only one who seems to have noticed how Ramsey was one of our better players and put in a strong game (necessary game too). One of the twitters says Ramsey trying to outdo Ozil, what game was he watching. Another says why didn’t Ramsey run back to stop the goal, why not ask our defensive midfielder or ask the CBs but this fool singles out Ramsey. Another blames Ramsey for every loss and draw of late, where do these people crawl out from under? I have never seen fan base so demented as our favorite player haters. Really, you seriously are a bunch of imbeciles. I know the authors do cherry pick the morons on purpose but come on ..why do we have so many?
What was the point of replacing Coquelin with Flamini?? To replace a defender with a defender?? Both are useless in our attack. If he wanted to tighten up the D Ramsey should go, for more attack bring in Campbell for Coquelin. Clueless
It’s beginning to become clear that players tend to perform poorly when they leave Arsenal because they really aren’t very good…
@silver tongue, it could also be asked why does our fan base have so many such as you? Bad mouthing people just because their opinion is different to yours is pretty lame. Have not watched the game yet but one thing I can guarantee is Ramsey will have passed the ball to the opposition at least a dozen times in the match because that’s what he does every game without fail. Every game I watch when Ramsey plays I pray he will have turned the corner and be the player we had for one season a few years back, then he was sublime, but he’s not even close to those heights now.
Sorry but how can you comment on Ramsey’s performance when you haven’t even watched the match.
As for at least a dozen times gave the ball away…… there is such a thing as opta statistics. He made 95 passes in the game, 90 of which were successful.
Any midfielder would be delighted in stats like that.
Get behind the team on good days and bad……. that’s what you do when you’re a real fan
Hi Gary, oops I thought the point I made with Ramsey was self explanatory but as you missed it by a mile I’ll put it another way, if you continue to make the same mistakes over and over you will get the same results regardless, I don’t have to watch Ramsey he’s been making the same mistakes in every game for the last three or four years! There is such a thing as using your eyes do that and having now watched the first half you will see Ramsey misplaced seven passes that went to the opposition, which kind of buggers up those stats wonder what the second half will bring. May be your right on not being a real fan started watching The Arsenal in 1960 maybe I haven’t put in enough time , how about you?
