‘Horribly exposing’: Piers Morgan bashes Arteta for ‘massive blindspot’ after Newcastle game
Gooner Piers Morgan echoed the criticism from the Arsenal faithful, after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the League on Tuesday evening.
Arsenal, through Gabriel Jesus, produced a clinical second half show in the last round of the League Cup as they saw off Crystal Palace 3-2 in a dramatic clash at the Emirates stadium a couple of weeks ago.
However, Tuesday night’s affair had no clinical finishing from the Gunners as they missed numerous chances which were then punished by a determined Newcastle outfit.
Arsenal’s loss to the Magpies in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final served as yet another alarming reminder of just how much a new goalscorer is needed at the club.
The result has sparked more criticism from several fans who believe manager Mikel Arteta has not done enough to address the team’s worries in an attack which is not firing on all cylinders….and Piers Morgan has joined those critics.
We need a clinical striker who can take us to the promise land. Am seriously angry as a fan, Asernal should stop show casing players they want to buy, they should buy the players and let get to the trophy level. We are due for trophy. Am tired of Asernal
