‘It’s ridiculous we rely on him!’ Twitter reacts to Gunners’ display at Barcelona
The second-leg of the round of 16 clash with Barcelona was more than just a repeat of Arsenal bowing out of the Champion League at the same stage yet again.
For most fans who witnessed the Gunners go toe-to-toe with the European champions and have only one goal to show for their efforts, it was another reminder of the team’s lack of a clinical goalscorer.
Arsene Wenger’s men registered a staggering 20 shots at the Camp Nou in an encouraging yet profligate performance which saw them lose 3-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate.
Despite the character that Arsenal showed on Wednesday, some Gooners were left unimpressed due to a familiar old problem.
…the absence of a Benzema, Suarez or Lewandowski upfront.
The most Arsenal thing ever: after a performance that proves they need a striker and a CB, the player they've been linked to is Toni Kroos.

I watched Arsenal persist with Almunia when we were crying out for a keeper. I'm fully expecting a long wait for a world class striker.

It's ridiculous that for all their nice play and title credentials, Arsenal are still here relying on a striker who couldn't make it at Utd

Arsenal had 20 shots at the Nou Camp tonight. 20 FFS!
With a world class striker we win the game. It's always 'what if' with us.— Tom Davies (@Tom_D98) March 16, 2016
How many times has Wenger said Arsenal haven't been clinical enough this season? Yet he thinks we don't need a striker…

It is not just a striker issue with Arsenal though..Our finishing in general is shit..One world class Striker won't change that

If anything, this game is another proof Arsenal need to spend big next summer on a world-class striker.

Comparing the chances of Arsenal being able to buy a top-class striker or Sanogo becoming one, the latter seems slightly more likely.

And ahead of Saturday’s trip to Goodison Park…
Everton cannot defend neither can arsenal, difference is they have a striker who actually knows how to hit the back of the net.
