‘I want to wear their shirt’ – Arsenal player reveals his ‘dream’ transfer move
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has revealed that his dream is to play for one of the biggest football clubs outside of Europe.
The 23-year-old was part of Unai Emery’s first group of signings after the Spanish tactician replaced Arsene Wenger as the manager of the Gunners at the end of last season.
After a decent season at the Emirates stadium, Lucas Torreira will be expected to be kept at the club for a few more years as a vital member of Arsenal’s midfield.
However, the Uruguay international has admitted that he does have dreams of playing for one of the game’s biggest clubs – who are not even based in Europe.
According to the former Serie A star, Argentina giants Boca Juniors are a club whom he dreams to play for at some point in his career as a footballer.
“One day, I want to play for Boca and wear their shirt,” the combative South American midfielder said, via Metro
“It’s a dream I have had since I was a little kid. It’s no secret, my family and friends know that.
“I was with several friends [at the Copa Libertadores final. I did not think I was going to suffer so much, I lived it with a lot of nerves. ‘It was not as we wanted, but reaching the final is not for anyone. It was a nice show because I had never had the chance to see Boca.”
