‘I’d rather keep Emery’: Some fans react to this potential Emery replacement
Several Arsenal fans have taken to social media to react to rumours – via BBC – that the club is interested in the possibility of hiring Wolves manager Nuno Santo as a replacement for Unai Emery if necessary.
The Gunners have been in below-par form for much of this season and with a third of the campaign already over, it might be time for the club to act fast in finding a new manager.
Unai Emery’s failure to restore Champions League football at the Emirates stadium in his debut season has been followed by an abysmal second year at the club thus far.
After the draw with Southampton at home over the weekend, the Arsenal boss’ future in north London has been placed into serious doubt.
The club’s next big decision will not just be to sack Emery but to find a capable replacement for the Spaniard as well.
And upon the news of Wolves manager Nuno Santo being identified as the favourite to replace Emery, some fans have shared their thoughts…
I'd rather keep Emery at this point. Nuno is not a Champions League level manager and CL is the level we want to be at. #nuno #emery

I'll back whoever becomes the next Arsenal manager but I think alot of fans obsession with just getting Emery out the door at all costs is making them more accepting of Nuno getting the job. It's a fairly underwhelming appointment if the stories are true but I'll back him 👍#AFC

I have no feeling or sense of connection that Nuno Santo should be the next Arsenal Manager. It'd be an underwhelming appointment, in truth.
I'd rather Arteta.
