Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided a worrying update on the condition of Alexis Sanchez following the weekend’s Premier League clash.

The Chile international appeared to have picked up an injury midway through the second-half against Stoke City as he signaled to the bench that he wanted to be withdrawn.

However, Sanchez was only substituted after he scored Arsenal’s third goal against Mark Hughes’ men.

And ahead of the midweek clash with Sunderland, Wenger has revealed there is a concern over the fitness of the 28-year-old.

“Alexis will have a test today,” Wenger said at his pre-match press conference on Monday

“It didn’t look too good but with him you never know – he is so keen. Maybe it was just a kick.”
