After Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Sunderland almost certainly condemned Arsenal to a seventh year without a trophy at the club, fans have duly began to question Arsene Wenger’s decisions as manager of the club.

And considering the several baffling tactical and transfer moves he has made over these barren years – from the constant use of a declining Manuel Almunia and Oxlade-Chamberlain’s substitution against Manchester United to the sale of star players without genuine replacements along with the negligence towards calls for new signings to improve the squad – Wenger’s ability to reason could be questioned too.
Thus, there are some who have come to the conclusion that ‘Arsene has just lost the plot’
But do you also consider Arsene Wenger a foolish man?

Sitting on 57M transfer profit just last seasson alone, and not buying any quality players.
What kind of Economics master degree holder is he, that he doesn’t even know the number one economic rule is: One must invest to make money.
Not only he’s a fool. He is a stubborn fool who’s not only destroying his legacy but dragging the Arsenal Football Club to mediocrity and possibly years in wilderness.
He didn’t sit on it per say the players he wanted did not want to move for e.g Hazard, Gotze and Vertonghen are all still at the same clubs they were at despite being coveted by half of Europe.
You could argue that wenger bought the players so he should die by yhem but if you think about it the majority have the talent but don’t choose to fulfill as Arsenal and Arsene has found out. All you can do is scout buy and hope the player reach their potential the players have let us down not Wenger as soon as you cross the white wash its down to you not the manager.

Wenger was and still is a great coach BUT, if he does not overhaul the squad which after this season even the arsenal board must realise needs to happen he needs to consider his position. If Wenger changes roles the only manager in the world would be Guardiola and give Gazidis and hillwoods responsibilities to Wenger and sack the two of them but only if Guardiola will come

Wenger doesn’t have enough money to buy top players.
1. Only 70% of player sales go back to Wenger, the other 30% is kept by the board.
2. The funds he has available have to pay the transfer fee, the wages for the term of the contract, and also any pay rises he gives current players. The deceiving Board like to put the full amount available out there to fool the fans. Wenger has nothing like that to spend.
The estimates were that he had about £40m at the end of the transfer window. That has to pay for RVP’s pay rise if he stays. £30k a week for 3 years. That’s £5m gone leaving £35m. Now lets assume that we are not renewing any other contracts (even though 4 other players need contracts renewing probably draining the fund by another £15m) and lets buy a quality player and pay them a modest £90k a week on a 5 year deal. That’s £23m gone in wages leaving us with a transfer fee of….£12m. Remind me what quality players you can pick up for £12m. None.
Its the board we should be protesting about not Wenger.

I really don’t know or understand what wenger wants to achieve with this his policy or tactics,its sickens my heart a lot cos dis is a club I love so much but with all the frequent disappoint meant its not fair,I don’t think wenger knows how hurting dis is esp to us the nigerian fans.
hoho, with Arsenal Current Wage Structure, how can World Class player to come to Arsenal, do Messi want to have wage about 90k a month at Arsenal? Arsene Wenger only have this type of player Szczesny,Vermaelen,Koscielny,Mertesacker,Song,etc. In this crop of player we only have RVP who is world class player with 80k a month, so he gonna leaves us soon, to have better team and better wage. While Wenger only manages and can ask the players to stay. Wenger can’t give the players their demanded wage. Sending Wenger out is not the solution. David Dein is the answer.
You will find that RVP is on 90k a week mate and has been offered 120k a week so i hear so not a bad wage
Not in comparison to most people but in comparison to most top class footballers it is pretty low.
He can expect £200k minimum maybe £250k a week elsewhere.
Arsenal as a club spend about £110m in wages but unlike other clubs that includes ALL wages including the Lawyers, directors, coaches etc.
On players we spend about £85m a year about the same as Villa.
I don’t think the players (some of them ) that we have right now deserve to play at top level. In UEFA against AC Milan, our players were too scared to play Arsenal’s style of football. And in FA match against Sunderland, they were not confident at all and were all over the place in defending. There are goals in this team no problems with that, but defending wise we are very very poor. All opposition team has to do is just kick the ball over the head of Center back and that’s all. Our defenders fell asleep defending corners or long balls. In FA match against Sunderland, many times i saw Djourou or Squillacci struggling whenever a long ball was played. This should be addressed by FC Arsenal coach.
Also i don’t see any tactics from Arsene Wenger, i mean what is your strategy when you play a weaker team like Blackburn & when you play Man Utd. Our team goes in with same formation and same tactics for all games which makes it very easy for opposite team. We need to improve on defending and play with some tactics. It will not & will never help if you just send out your players and ask them to show there magic.
Imagine, Wenger went with a tactic of All out defending against AC Milan in UEFA and try to catch them on counter attack. Even if we got a result of 0-0 or a goal down we still have had a chance in our second leg. Please Wenger, address these issues. I hope you know much better than me, but we see same results from last 3 years and no signs of improvement. Our team needs balance, too many young players will not get results in big games. We need both younger & experienced players in our team. We need to get the balance right. Players that are confident, not scared of playing our style of football, hungry, go in to tackles, one who can play physical game with teams like Stoke. Please sell dead players and get in some good talent.

Wenger seems to be living in his own fantasy dream.Results and goals are all that matter in soccer.Yet more defensive woes dog the gunners .Ask yourself why this is so?Why do the gunners continue to concede goals from set pieces?This conceding of goals has been dogging the gunners for years. You don’t find other teams conceding such goals with alarming clockwork. Wenger’s refusal to countenance defense drills is the principal reason.
I am afraid the Fm has run out of ideas. His obssession with pretty soccer at the expense of results is causing the gunners to drift towards the mid table.If the gunners finish 5th,please let him go if he wants or else force him out.
Don’t really know what to expect from this team. I think we are in wilderness now.

The club is a shambles- with an absence of leadership at the very top of the club.
Arsene Wenger is not a fool but he is not being held accountable for his failings as a coach- for the last 5 years the team have not been competitive at the top level- and too much is made about money- the guy patently can’t/ doesn’t coach defending.
Wenger is a manager with far too much power and control at the club. No other top manager in the world would sell his best players each year and not replace them in order to pay for a capital asset .
No other top manager has our greedy board sitting above him.
He made a statement during the window that he thought he would be able to keep Nasri or Cesc.
He also came out with his ‘can’t consider ourselves to be a big club if we lose both’ comments. That was aimed at the board not the fans.
Then the board overruled him and sold Nasri and Cesc.
Wenger is fighting the board and losing and the fans are missing the real problem at the club.

The problem is nobody on the Arsenal staff dares to tell Wenger the defence has been plaguing the gunners for years. Yet the fm shows no sign of doing anything concrete to strengthen the defence.He continues playing the same way ie 99% possession and 1000 one thousand shots at goal with no goals scored.Along the way he is stopped by anti soccer and the gunners lose.He tears his face or hair and refuses to believe the gunners ar trailing in spite of their greater territorial possession.
I am afrid he is like alittle boy lost. If he doesn’t wise up and play other teams at their own game ie kick and rush/anti soccer/high balls/fastest way to goal instead of endless passing,Arsenal will be dragged further down the table.
He has to get off his high horse and call other bosses how to shore up his crumbling defence. The problem is he is too proud and arrogant and believs he will be vindicated one day which unfortunately won’t come.
Btw I rea d t hat Adams and Bould should come to help wenger. The latter is too proud to do so. He wants things done his way ie to hell with defence. I will keep on attacking .

Wenger is 99.99% foolish.
The system Wenger introduced is beautiful to watch, but it is ineffective on a bad pitch. Most of the players we have are nimble and will experience injuries playing on surfaces unlike what we have at the Emirates.
One system suits all will not work, for after awhile teams learn your strengths and weaknesses. Wenger will need stronger, faster, more skillful athletes to cope with what is demanded of them week on week. He should take the two expensive lessons dished out to him this week and start to think more logical. Tactically he has demonstrated that he is among the less able managers in the Premiership. People are rubbishing the players, but sadly the weak link the team is proving to be the manager and his assistants.
I’ll vote no anytime, anyday cos we’ve only always heard one side of the Arsenal story. Facts will eventually surface in Arsene’s story whenever he decides to tell it. Why would mighty Real Madrid be chasing Wenger’s signa ure after all these years. I bet there are things in Arsene’s contract with Arsenal that keeps his mouth shut on certain issues.
Wenger knows the right thing but has refuse 2 do them. Am sure he is aware that arsenal has the smallest team in premier league in terms of sizes.
Look you can’t lay all the blame at Wenger’s feet, the only thing I would say he should have been stronger with the board on transfers and the sale of Fabregas. But the board have their puppet Gazidis who thinks the way they do and Wenger will never truly get his way as he did When Dein was CEO. So Wenger has had to work with the transfer and wage budgets that the club have set in place.
For me the players have let me down they all have potential but why are they not playing to it fully the flag is at hslf mast. You cant blame Wenger for the players failings on the pitch there are certain players in the team like Song, Djourou and Arshavin that think their better than the way they actually play when both are a waste of space had potential but have ruined it along with our hopes of silverware. When a team crosses the white wash it all on them if they don’t perform we lose simple.
There needs to be a overhaul of the squad in the sumer even if we sell players like Bendtner, Song, Vela, Walcot, Arshavin, Denilson, Djourou, Squilaci, Rosicky, Almunia for for 50 quid just to get them off our wage bill. Truthfully we should get 30-40 million for the lot and get 7-8 new players in 3 of them Hazard, Gotze and Vertonghen and 4 decent players 26-30 years old who are experienced at International and Champions League level promote the best youngsters like Afobe and Aneke and bring back Miyaichi then sign a few youngsters of the Chamberlain mould young and hungry.
Ideally get these players bring in and if there is to be a new manager I would only have Guardiola as he’s the only decent manager out there and make Wenger CEO then well have a dream team at the helm like the Wenger Dein days of old.

For him to believed that he is a champion with the sale of fab,nas,gael,eboue, without proper replacement while other coaches buy players be it average or complete players his a fool.
Why are you fans expect something good, if any thing good comes arsenal ways it means other coaches are fools but to go out of season empty handed wenger is a fool.
I will not accept having a coach on my books settling for anything less than 1st place, esp. if it has been going on for more than 5. I’de sack him immediately. With his few previous successes or not. The idea is to win at least 1 out of the 4 trophies available and he can’t even do that…but as long as the money come in then the board is happy, wenger as well and the fans get the raw deal. As proud supporter of the club I think it’s time for him to go, thank you for the past achievements but we need to think of the future of this club as being a top team in the world. The errors made over successive years is testament to wenger’s stubbornness and that don’t do it for me. The worst thing do is to watch our club slipping bigtime and there’s nothing we can do…what a frustrating time we have to endure. I have a lot of hope after wenger and change is a good thing…we need to evolve but for the best and the best costs money, and why not?

Mr Wenger is not a fool,however there is a time and a tide for all men and his time has come. we need to look for a younger man like the Guy at Swansea or a O.Niel. Unfortunately I think he has let things slide so far that it will be difficult to attact the best and we shall loose the best. We all thot Arsene had the answers but he has faded!! If we get a new energetic motivating manager with the young guys in the reserves etc and some buys for stability we can recoup our standards again.I fear we have a few years in the wildnerness.
