After making several signings this summer, the Gunners appear to have switched their focus towards new contracts for players who mean a lot to the club.

Unai Emery’s men were one of the most prolific sides in the Premier League last term, with Manchester City and Liverpool being the only teams to score more than them during the season.

Much of the flurry of goals was the responsibility of Pierre Emerick-Aubemyang, whose success at the club saw him linked with an exit earlier this summer.

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianeli though, the Gunners have offered the Gabon star a new one-year deal to stay at the club with his strike partner Alexandre Lacazette receiving the same proposal.

Aubameyang, who is pocketing £180,000-a-week wages, finished last season as the team’s top scorer in his first full campaign as a Gunner.
