Journalist’s claim on the 2 players ‘Arsenal want’ as signings and Dembele stance
Sam Dean, one of Britain’s higher-tier journalists, has revealed how many players ‘Arsenal want’ in the January transfer window as new signings, with less than three weeks left before the deadline.
The Gunners appear to have been handed the sort of managerial boost they needed in a turbulent season, ever since the arrival of Mikel Arteta in December.
Following the appointment of the Spaniard, who spent the final years of his playing career as a Gunner, Arsenal’s performances on the pitch and results have improved.
Despite the immediate progress under Arteta though, the squad does seem to be in need of strengthening and this month has presented an opportunity for that to be done.
According to journalist Sam Dean, the club is actually looking to bring in two new players this month.
Even though the current atmosphere appears as though Arsenal will not be doing any business this month, fans have to remember that is the same way the club approached last summer’s transfer window – with complaints of a very low budget – before the cash was splashed on players like Nicolas Pepe and William Saliba out of nowhere.
Dean, who works for the Telegraph, claimed the Gunners are eyeing moves to sign a defender as well as a midfielder, before adding that Lyon striker Moussa Dembele will not be considered due to his potentially expensive cost.
Arsenal want a defender and a box-to-box midfielder. Lyon striker Moussa Dembele currently not an option — he’s wanted by Chelsea but very unlikely to move this window (would take a massive fee)
