Journalist Romano reveals status of Arsenal’s Thomas Partey pursuit
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed the current status of Arsenal’s pursuit of Thomas Partey as the Gunners look to strengthen their midfield options for next season.
Following a campaign that saw his side fail to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta is now under some pressure to ensure the right signings are brought in before the start of the new season next month.
Thus, the Gunners have been strongly linked with a move to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, who were knocked out of the Champions League a couple of days ago.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish side are now seeking a fee of £45million to sell the player, an amount which is certainly affordable, considering the price Arsenal had to pay for record signing Nicolas Pepe last summer.
Of course, along with the update about Atletico’s stance on the sale of Partey, the Italian journalist also revealed that Aubameyang is set to extend his contract at the club while another Arsenal target Gabriel nears a decision over his next move.
Pierre Aubameyang is going to sign his new contract with Arsenal soon. Gabriel Magalhães will decide about his next club on next days. Thomas: Atlético want €50m as release clause or they’ll not sell him. ⚪️🔴 #AFC #transfers https://t.co/i7zteGgkzH
