Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that one of the players in the Gunners’ squad influenced his decision to join the club.

The 26-year-old decided to move to the Emirates stadium from Olympique Lyonnais in early July following several months of transfer speculation.

After Arsene Wenger’s failure to land the services of Lacazette during the summer of 2016, most fans were not expecting the goalscorer to finally make the switch this year.

But according to the player himself, what made his decision to move to north London easier was the idea of playing alongside star forward Alexis Sanchez.

“That’s also one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre,” Lacazette told Arsenal Player.

“Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude. His approach makes me want to play alongside him – hopefully for many years.”

Lacazette has so far managed to score four goals in the Premier League which have all come at the Emirates stadium even though his clean strike at Stoke City was harshly ruled out for offside by the match official.
