Lichtsteiner sends message to teammates on Twitter after Southampton defeat
Arsenal defender Stephan Lichtsteiner had a message for the rest of the team on social media after the surprise defeat to Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal were expected by many fans and pundits to continue their unbeaten run on Sunday as they travelled to Southampton, even though they did not manage to win the same fixture last season when an equalizer from Olivier Giroud was needed to secure a draw.
Another below-par show in the first half of the game saw the Gunners go into the break trailing 2-1 despite a fine header from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who had been out of form in recent weeks.
The Armenian international found the net again after the restart but some shambolic defending from the away side saw Arsenal lose 3-2 as their long unbeaten run came to an end.
After the game, Stephan Lichtsteiner, who featured in the defeat against the Saints, took to social media to send a message to the rest of the team..
Not what we expected! But now lets keep calm and keep up the hard work! #WeAreTheArsenal🔴 #COYG #YaGunnersYa @Arsenal pic.twitter.com/ExdrQeUVNh
