Lucas Perez has expressed his thoughts on the future of Arsene Wenger after continued speculation over the Arsenal’s manager’s future.
The Gunners have lost four of their last five games in the Premier League, prompting calls for Wenger to step down after two decades in England.
Perez, who was signed from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, has rarely been handed first team opportunities by the Arsenal boss this season.
Even so, the Spaniard insists his wish is for Wenger to remain at the Emirates stadium this summer.
“Although I’m not a starter, I have a very good relationship with Wenger. He is an icon and I think he is going to continue,” Perez said.
“People respect him. His relationship with the players is very good and he has been here 20 years. I would like him to continue but that’s his decision.
“He has not communicated his decision to the team or the club yet.”
