Major boost for Emery as key Arsenal star finally makes return ahead of Villa clash
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been boosted by the return to action of his first-choice right-back, heading into the clash with Aston Villa.
The Gunners managed to defeat Frankfurt on Thursday night in the Europa League to bring an end to a winless run which started after the victory over Burnley last month.
Emery has been playing Ainsley Maitland-Niles as a makeshift right-back ever since Hector Bellerin suffered a knee injury in January.
The Spaniard has spent several months on the sidelines but, much to the delight of his boss, Bellerin is now back on the pitch.
Following a long road to recovery after undergoing knee surgery, the 24-year-old was able to play in a game of football for the first time on Friday.
Bellerin managed to feature for 62 minutes in the Arsenal youth team’s clash with the Wolves academy.
Considering how concerning Maitland-Niles’ form has been, the return of Bellerin will be a significant boost for the Gunners.
