‘Make him captain immediately’: Piers Morgan calls for this player to replace Xhaka as captain

Piers Morgan took to social media to share his choice of whom the new Arsenal skipper should be if Granit Xhaka is indeed stripped of the captaincy this season.
The Gunners have had several captains over the past decade, with the club appearing to be missing natural leaders ever since the departures of players like Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell.
In the latter years of Arsene Wenger’s reign, the armband was handed over on several occasions as William Gallas, Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie all occupied the role of captain at various points.
Under Unai Emery, that pattern has hardly changed with the Arsenal boss being forced to name a new skipper this season, following the departure of Laurent Koscielny during the summer while Petr Cech entered retirement.
But after the controversial incident which involved current captain Granit Xhaka on Sunday, Piers Morgan has called for the Switzerland international to be replaced in his role.
The popular Arsenal supporter is not calling for just anyone to be the new captain though. Indeed, Matteo Guendouzi is the man he has nominated for the role…
The mark of a proper leader. I’d make @MatteoGuendouzi captain immediately. Never want to see Xhaka in an Arsenal shirt again. https://t.co/TwCPq84JGZ

If 20-year-old Guendouzi was to be handed the captain’s armband, he would become the youngest player since Fabregas (21) to be assigned the task of leading the team.
