Massive boost: Another key Arsenal player makes early comeback
Arsenal have been boosted by the returns of a couple of players ahead of this month’s busy festive schedule.
The Gunners saw their unbeaten run in all competitions come to an end last Wednesday as Southampton won 2-0 at the Emirates stadium.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men made amends with a thumping 5-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday which extended their undefeated streak in the Premier League to 13 games.
And of the midweek Champions League fixture against Basel, there is more good news for Arsenal who have been troubled by injuries yet again this season.
Hector Bellerin has made a return to light training relatively earlier than expected after managing to get involved at London Colney on Monday morning.
The Spaniard was not the only positive update for Arsenal at the start of the week as Per Mertesacker also resumed light training as well after several months out.
With Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi featuring in a majority of the Gunners’ games so far this season, Wenger will be pleased to have more cover for the duo ahead of the second-half of the season.
