Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker took to social media to react to the Gunners’ latest bit of business in the January transfer window on Wednesday.

Arsene Wenger was able complete the signings of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac last summer before choosing to let go of the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gabriel.

The Gunners boss has done more business in the transfer market this month with the acquisition of young Greek defender Konstantino Maprovanos and the sale of Francis Coquelin to Valencia.

On Wednesday, Everton confirmed that Theo Walcott has also joined them after reaching an agreement with Arsenal over a deal worth 20 million.

The 28-year-old has brought an end to a 12-year stay at Arsenal which saw him become the longest-serving player in the squad at the time of his departure.

And as a result, club captain Per Mertesacker has taken to Twitter to say goodbye to Theo Walcott…
