Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil sent out a message to the fans that the ‘result hurts’, after playing in the clash with Chelsea which ended in an agonizing defeat on Sunday afternoon.

With Mikel Arteta overseeing his first game as Arsenal boss against Bournemouth on Thursday, the former Manchester City assistant coach had little time to prepare his new side for the meeting with Chelsea three days later.

Just as he did at the Vitality stadium, Arsenal’s boss named a line-up which saw Mesut Ozil claim the role of the team’s chief playmaker, behind the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in attack.

Ozil was involved in the Gunners early goal as his corner-kick was flicked on by Calum Chambers before being headed into the net by Aubameyang.

Despite having the lead for much of the game, Arsenal finished it empty-handed after a late comeback from Chelsea.

Even though the day ended in pain, Mesut Ozil, who was substituted with 15 minutes to go, took to Twitter to send out a defiant message to the fans.
