Mesut Ozil’s message after playing in Crystal Palace draw
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil sent out a message to the fans that he was ‘slightly disappointed’ after featuring in the clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Gunners faced London neighbours Crystal Palace over the weekend as they chased another win in the league, following that impressive display against Manchester United at the Emirates stadium.
Mikel Arteta named a starting eleven which was very similar to the one which defeated the Red Devils, as Mesut Ozil was handed another start in midfield.
The former Real Madrid star has become one of the first names on the team sheet under Arteta, after rarely featuring during the reign of previous boss Unai Emery.
Ozil, who was substituted in the second half of the game, could only help the Gunners secure a draw at Selhurst Park as Crystal Palace came from behind to even the score.
After the match, which saw Aubameyang receive a red card, Ozil sent out a message to the fans that he was ‘slightly disappointed’ with the failure to beat Palace.
Slightly disappointed with the final score. We were fighting all together to get the away win, but it wasn't meant to be. Let's stay positive and keep believing, Gunners ⚽🙏🏼 #M1Ö #COYG pic.twitter.com/nxvkwEEUrh
