Pundit Michael Owen has revealed his prediction for the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were sitting in third place in the Premier League in early October but matters have become rather desperate at the Emirates stadium with the team not even occupying a spot in the top half of the table ahead of Sunday’s clash.
After last weekend’s dull draw away at Everton, Arsenal were forced to settle for another point as they visited Bournemouth on Thursday.
That trip to the Vitality stadium happened to be the Gunners’ first game under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta, who was appointed as the new head coach last week.
Arsenal are now preparing for a clash against London rivals Chelsea, who beat them 4-1 in the Europa League final on the last occasion that the two sides faced off.
Ahead of the showdown at the Emirates stadium, Micheal Owen is predicting both sides to score and the Gunners to end up drawing yet again.
“Chelsea have lost seven league games so far this season, and they were brought back down to earth after the euphoria of their win at Spurs on Sunday when they lost to Southampton at the Bridge on Boxing Day.” Owen said in his pre-match prediction via BetVictor
“This will be Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge of Arsenal at the Emirates and, after workmanlike draws at Everton and Bournemouth, I think the Gunners will have to again settle for a point in this London derby.”
“Tip: Game to finish in a scoring draw at 17/5”
