AS Monaco defender Jemerson has picked out one of Arsenal’s summer signings amongst the best two opponents he has ever faced.

After finishing last season outside the top four of the Premier League, Arsene Wenger was urged by many to secure the signing of a new goalscorer to improve his squad.

And the Arsenal manager answered those calls by bringing in Alexandre Lacazette from Olympique Lyonnais in a deal which made him the most expensive player in the club’s history.

The 26-year-old has arrived in England with a reliable reputation from Ligue 1 and one man who has attested to that is Monaco defender Jemerson.

“Cavani and Lacazette,” Jemerson said when asked about the best or toughest opponents he has faced.

“Besides their quality with the ball, they are very intelligent without the ball, they move a lot, they know how to get away from the defenders, they open spaces.

“They make life very difficult for the defenders.”
