Mustafi sends out his update on bad hamstring injury
Shkodran Mustafi has taken to social media to send an encouraging message to fans after his injury against Stoke City.
The 24-year-old has been a pivotal part of Arsene Wenger’s side this season, maintaining a record of never losing when he plays.
However, a hamstring problem he picked up during the first-half of the 3-1 victory over Stoke City means Mustafi is unlikely to be involved in Arsenal’s festive period fixtures.
According to Wenger, the injury which the German international suffered is certainly not a minor problem.
“It’s a bad one. He had nothing in midweek. I would not have played him today (if he had).” the Arsenal manager said after the win over Mark Hughes’ side.
And 24 hours after limping off just 25 minutes into the match, Mustafi has accepted that he will have to watch his teammates from the sidelines for a few weeks.
“There’s never a right time for an injury but at that point of the season it’s extremely bitter. I was looking forward to the game against my former club Everton and the clash against Manchester City.” the centre-back said in an emotional Instagram post
“I’ll do everything I can to recover as quickly as possible. Only positive thoughts on my mind because I know I’ll come back stronger than before.”
