New Arsenal signing Denis Suarez took to social media to send out a message to the fans after playing in the famous red and white shirt for the first time ever in his career.
The Gunners were strongly linked with a move for the 25-year-old for much of January but as usual, there was little success towards completing a deal until the final stages of the transfer window.
Following a resumption of negotiations with Barcelona last week, Arsenal finally reached an agreement with the La Liga side over a deal to sign Suarez on loan for the remainder of the season.
There were rumours over whether the midfielder would be included in the squad which travelled to the Etihad stadium or not and Unai Emery did not hesitate to name Suarez in his 18-man squad for the clash.
The on-loan star from Barcelona made his debut for Arsenal in the second half of the game as Arsenal trailed 3-1.
Suarez was not able to make much of a difference on a frustrating night for the team but he did take to Twitter to send out a warm message for the fans after the game…
Today I returned to Manchester to make my debut in the @premierleague and I was eager and happy to start this great challenge.. The score wasn't good but this has just started. Let's go for it, C'mon Gunners! #ArsenalFC pic.twitter.com/B5OF0i20JK
