Theo Walcott is edging closer to a return to fitness after beginning the final step of rehabilitation this week.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined for nearly a month after suffering a calf injury in the 3-0 League Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
After over a month out of action, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Walcott was cleared to resume running earlier this week.
Despite the forward’s progress in his road to recovery, the Arsenal boss does not expect Walcott to be fit until December.
“Not for Sunday. He goes through a few tests and steps but the first one was successful. He started running again on Tuesday morning and had no reaction.” Wenger said.
The Gunners’ long injury list is gradually reducing following the returns of Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the Premier League visit to Norwich City.
