Arsenal’s new acquisition Pablo Mari has been quick to heap praise on the man in charge of the Gunners after completing his move to north London this week.

A very worrying start to the 2019/20 campaign saw the club replace Unai Emery with Mikel Arteta, who returned to the Emirates stadium after leaving his role as Manchester City’s assistant manager.

The Spaniard had the opportunity to make his first new signings as Arsenal manager during the January transfer window and Arteta did not turn down that chance.

Arsenal’s new manager decided to make Pablo Mari his first ever acquisition as the Spanish defender moved to north London from Flamengo in a loan deal with the Brazilian side.

Following his arrival, the 26-year-old has been quick to heap praise on one man at the club and that is Mikel Arteta.

According to Mari, the Spanish tactician has shown he has ‘everything’ that is required to succeed as the Gunners’ boss.

“When you build a good group and have a coaching philosophy like Mikel’s, I think he can completely change Arsenal and the current dynamic around the team,” Mari told Arsenal Player.

“I think as a coach he has everything it takes to achieve that, plus he has a very good side with top players. I think as time goes by and with the day-to-day work from Mikel, we can achieve that.

“Mikel transmitted a lot of confidence to me,” he added. “He’s a great coach and he’s changing things at a big club. It’s really important to have that personality to be able take decisions at a big club during such a tricky time and I think that speaks volumes about Mikel.

“In terms of the system he uses on the pitch, I think he has very clear ideas which reflect my own vision of football. I want to work hard every day and every weekend to repay Mikel’s confidence in me.”
