Arsenal are reportedly closing in on their third new signing of the summer according to reports on Tuesday.

The Gunners have already secured the acquisitions of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette so far, heading into the new campaign.

Wenger recently admitted that he is keen on adding at least one more player to his squad before the transfer window is shut and his main target appears to be Thomas Lemar.

According to the Sun, Arsenal are now closing in on the signing of the 21-year-old star after a ‘breakthrough’ in negotiations.

Wenger is known to be a long time admirer of Lemar whom he has made several offers for since the summer transfer window opened.

AS Monaco were believed to have turned down Arsenal’s most recent bid for the midfielder but the new report is suggesting that they are nearing an agreement with the Gunners over a €50.3 million (£45 million) transfer deal.

The Sun are further claiming that Lemar has in fact agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates stadium.

Wenger’s acquisition of the France international could make Arsenal one of the serious contenders for the Premier League title next season despite their Europa League involvement.
