Good news for Wenger: Forgotten star joins Arsenal squad in training ahead of Cologne match
Arsene Wenger has welcomed back one of his forgotten stars to training ahead of the Europa League clash with FC Cologne on Thursday night.
The Arsenal manager will be hoping his side returns to winning ways in the Europa League after being held to a 0-0 draw by Red Star Belgrade in their last outing in the competition.
Wenger is expected to make several changes to the starting eleven from Saturday’s game against Tottenham Hotspur; a golden opportunity for certain fringe players to impress.
And one of the men back in the team could be Calum Chambers who has returned to full training with the first team after being troubled by injuries.
The former Southampton defender recently featured for the club’s youth side to improve his fitness and on Wednesday, he made it clear on Twitter that he took part in the team’s preparations ahead of the trip to Germany.
Chambers’ return will certainly be good news for Wenger who has been desperately short of options at centre-back in the new 3-4-3 system at times this season.
