Unai Emery has been handed a major boost on the fitness front ahead of the clash with Cardiff City in the Premier League this weekend.

The Gunners were dealt a blow to their confidence as they kicked off the new season with back-to-back defeats which came against title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, there was a response from Emery’s men last weekend as they managed to secure a 3-1 victory over West Ham which saw them come back from a goal down to clinch their first three points of the season.

One man who was not able to feature in the clash with the Hammers was Mesut Ozil. The German midfielder has already received criticism so far this season but he remains a very key player for the Gunners.

Emery revealed that the 29-year-old was left out Saturday’s match due to an illness but Ozil has handed the Arsenal boss a big boost by returning to training ahead of the clash with Cardiff City.
