A dramatic week has seen Arsenal lose a key player and then welcome a new signing before booking a place in the final of the Carabao Cup.

Arsene Wenger’s men came into this week with the turbulence of Alexis Sanchez’s departure to deal with after the forward’s decision to join Manchester United.

However, the 29-year-old’s move to Old Trafford has seen Arsenal secure the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return as a like-for-like replacement.

The arrival of the Armenian star was hardly anticipated heading into the January transfer window but he may well be a success story at the Emirates stadium should he rediscover his Bundesliga form from nearly two seasons ago.

Mkhitaryan is now having to get used to his new surroundings and his debut could be just around the corner.

The former Dortmund star made his first formal visit to the Emirates stadium as an Arsenal player on Wednesday evening and he was able to enter the dressing room to greet his new teammates before the 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Mkhitaryan was frequently linked with a move to Arsenal back in the summer of 2016 before he ended up joining Manchester United.
