Player to travel on Monday with Arsenal signing of South American ‘finally done’ – Romano
Arsenal appear to have finally wrapped up what will be their second new acquisition of the summer transfer window after several weeks of speculation.
With the Gunners set to make another push for Champions League football next season, Mikel Arteta has been working on bolstering his defensive unit this summer.
That has witnessed the club retain an interest in Gabriel Magalhaes, a player seemingly on the radar of other major clubs in Europe.
However, according to a report by Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have won the battle to sign the 22-year-old.
The Italian journalist claims an agreement to sign the Brazilian has been reached and Gabriel is now expected to travel to London on Monday to place the finishing touches on his Arsenal switch.
The report further indicates that the South American youngster has agreed to sign a long-term contract with the Gunners with his deal expected to be officially confirmed by the club as early as next week.
Gabriel Magalhães to Arsenal, here we go! Total agreement just completed: he will fly on Monday to London to sign his contract until June 2025, €30M to Lille (add ons included), official statement on next week. The deal is finally done. ⚪️🔴 #AFC #Arsenal #transfers
