‘Remove him from the squad’ – Some fans want Arsenal star gone after Saints draw

Several Arsenal fans took to social media to share their frustration over the performance of one of the senior players in the defence, during the draw at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Unai Emery’s side welcomed the Saints to the Emirates stadium this weekend, having dropped down to seventh place in the table prior to kick off.

The Arsenal boss, who has been reluctant to drop certain players this season, kept faith in 2018 summer signing Sokratis once again as the team played with three men at the back – just as they did in the defeat away to Leicester City two weeks ago.

On Saturday, Arsenal’s defence were made to look highly unreliable yet again as they conceded twice to a Southampton team who are battling against relegation this term.

After the draw which saw the Gunners come close to suffering a defeat to the Saints, Sokratis was bashed by the fans for his performance…

Sokratis is just as bad, if not worse than Squillaci. I honestly cannot fathom how this guy gets so much game time.

I questioned the signing of sokratis when we got him but some fans said he had a winning mentality and ready to die on the pitch. The man isn't comfortable with the ball at his feet and very clumsy with his tackles as well as his positioning at dortmund. It was well documented https://t.co/tI8e5P7fox

Don't let the head coach saga hide the fact that Sokratis was simply awful today. Stupid yellow card, stupidly losing the ball in his own box that by only a miracle wasn't punished & even a foul throw to finish.
