Report claims 27-year-old is on course to leave Arsenal

Mikel Arteta appears to be set to lose one of his midfield options in the January transfer window, if rumours from this weekend are to believed.
Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery ditched a couple of senior players during the summer transfer window, but there were others who remained at the club against the odds.
Granit Xhaka, who recently lost his role as captain, was one of the players who survived the mini clear-out in the summer but he could still leave the club in the near future.
Indeed, according to German source Bild, the 27-year-old is on course to leave the club in January and a return to the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin is likely to happen.
Another German source FussballTransfers has even gone as far as claiming that Granit Xhaka has agreed personal terms with Hertha Berlin over a move, even though Arsenal are yet to receive a formal offer for the midfielder.
In the midst of all of these rumours, the Switzerland international played at Goodison Park on Saturday as the Gunners settled for a 0-0 draw away to Everton.
