Arsenal have added the 2014 FA Community Shield to the trophy cabinet.

Two smart finishes from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey saw Arsenal find the net twice in the first half before a thunderbolt from Olivier Giroud after the break wrapped up a 3-0 victory at Wembley.

Arsenal, the dominant side in terms of crowd attendance were as dominant on the pitch in the opening minutes at they took the game to Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

There were a few chances spurned from Wenger’s side and Manchester City even threatened to hit a sucker-punch before Cazorla finally handed the London side the lead they deserved.

Yaya Sanogo’s movement upfront had City’s defending looking awkward and Cazorla unleashed one of his trademark left-footed efforts to take advantage of that.

The Gunners had made a strong case for their lead but the blues were beginning to make a strong case for an equalizer when Ramsey shut them up with Arsenal’s second. Sanogo was involved again as he held the ball up for the Welshman who turned and found the back of the net.

Arsene Wenger’s half-time team talk was not too hard and when substitute Olivier Giroud fired home a screamer from 25 yards out after the restart, winning the Community Shield was not too hard either.

Only three months after ending a nine-year trophy drought at Wembley, the Gunners climbed up the stairs to lift another piece of silverware at this same venue today.
