Arsenal came from behind to defeat West Ham in another testing visit to Upton Park on Saturday.

Like they had done on Wednesday against Olympiakos, the Gunners had to respond to a stinging effort from their opponents as Diame gave the Hammers a fairly undeserved lead after 20 minutes.

Wenger’s men had to clear their heads and retaliate and it took until the 41st minutes to do so as Podolski’s sublime cross found Giroud who poked the ball home.

Sam Alladyce’s side tormented Arsenal in the air as Andy Carroll won much of the aerial battles against Arsenal’s defence. But12 minutes from time, substitute Theo Walcott was found by Giroud and the English forward produced a clinical finish to hand Arsenal the lead.

Considering the way they had wrestled the Gunners, a late fight back was expected from West Ham but Santi Cazorla quenched all fears of an agonizing equalizer as the Spanish midfielder let fly a fantastic long range effort which dipped into the net to seal a  3-1 victory.
