Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has questioned the quality of defending which led to Manchester City’s first goal against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Gunners had a golden chance to win some silverware last weekend as they faced Pep Guardiola’s side in the Carabao Cup final.
However, another below display, only a couple of days after the shock defeat to Ostersund in the Europa League, saw the Gunners suffer a 3-0 thrashing to City.
Despite the final score, Arsenal were very much in the game prior to the opening goal which was scored by Sergio Aguero.
Shkodran Mustafi has received all sorts of criticism from fans and pundits for his unconvincing attempt to stop Aguero in the build-up to the goal.
And Aaron Ramsey has joined in on the scrutiny by labelling it as a ‘silly mistake’ which led to the goal.
“Obviously we’re all very disappointed. We wanted to try and win the game but we made a silly mistake which led to the first goal and that was disappointing.” Ramsey said
“It’s always difficult when they take the lead and they’re such a quality team.
“They deserved the win today.”
