Former Arsenal player Paul Merson is tipping Arsenal to secure a very rare victory at Stoke City this weekend.
The Gunners are heading into the clash against Mark Hughes’ side in rejuvenated form after winning back-to-back games 2-0 against Manchester United and Southampton.
Concerns prior to Saturday’s affair are largely due to the fact that Wenger’s men have not won away at Stoke City since a 3-1 victory in the 2009/10 season.
However, Sky Sports pundit Merson insists that barren run which has lasted seven years is set to come to an end on Saturday.
“I expect Arsenal to win this game.” he said
“I don’t normally go against Stoke at home but I watched them at Bournemouth and I think if Arsenal get going it’s a nice game. It’s not like the old days.
“I think it will be an open, good game and I expect Arsenal to win.”
Arsenal’s last trip to Stoke City resulted in a 0-0 draw which did some damage to the Gunners’ title challenge in January 2016.
